Mom is looking for one or more caregivers for her 7-year-old daughter. She has been diagnosed with autism, visual impairment, and mixed receptive-expressive language disorder. She is not toilet trained and does not eat solid food (will eat purees, yogurt, pudding, etc.). She communicates using a variety of modalities, including vocalizations, signs, gestures, tactile symbols, real objects (spoon to signal she wants to eat, diaper tab to indicate she needs to be changed), and mid-tech voice output devices. She is able to navigate independently within the family home but may require hand holding to go from one area to the next on foot or in unfamiliar environments. She loves water and being outside. She enjoys jumping on the family’s couch and rocking in a rocking horse. She can entertain herself and is outgoing. The family lives in Middleton. Nursing, physician’s assistant, OT/PT/SLP, and rehab therapy students highly encouraged to apply.

Parents are looking for one or more caregivers for their sweet 10-year-old son. He uses a wheelchair, has controlled seizures daily, and wears oxygen through a nasal canula. The family has a pet-free home on the far east side of Madison. Their son loves taking walks, reading books, massage, making silly noises, and anything related to music. Nursing, physician’s assistant, OT/PT/SLP, rehab, and respiratory therapy students highly encouraged to apply. No experience necessary — paid, on-the-job training provided by parents.
The household takes the COVID virus seriously. It is important to parents that candidates are vaccinated and minimize contact with large groups and unvaccinated people whenever possible. Due to oxygen usage in the home, candidates must be non-smokers. Must be reliable, professional, honest, sincere, positive, and have a willingness to learn.
Please email your resume, a brief cover letter explaining your interest, any previous experience working with people with disabilities, and availability to ahollander@fsrcdane.org
Range of hours/week: Hours needed are Mon-Fri 8:30a to 4:30p with the option to work Sat/Sun 1-6p. Weekday shifts are prioritized at this time. Parents would prefer someone who can do at least two of the shifts, but will work with people who can only do one day per week.
