Cross-County Sit Skis

Location: Buckhorn State Park; Kettle Moraine State Forest – Lapham Peak; Mirror Lake State Park; Richard Bong State Recreation Area
Sit skis are available for free use at some Wisconsin state park locations. All locations offering these sit skis have flat-groomed trails that allow for easier maneuverability.

UW Union Outdoor Winter Rentals

Home Depot Kids Workshop
Saturdays
Cost:  Free. Kids ages 5-12 (must be accompanied by an adult)

Location: Home Depot – Various Locations, Madison
A chance for kids to use hands-on skills by sanding, nailing, painting and more. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron and a commemorative pin while supplies last

Olbrich Botanical Gardens

Madison Children’s Museum Access for Everyone
Families who qualify can visit the museum for the discounted ticket rate of $1 per person.

This admission rate is available every day the museum is open to the general public. To use this benefit, ask for the Access Admission rate at the admission desk of the museum when you check in

Wisconsin State Capitol Tour
Cost: Free
Location: Wisconsin’s Capitol building, 2 East Main Street, Madison
Tours are offered daily, except on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Tours start at the Information Desk, Monday through Saturday at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 am and 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 pm; and Sundays at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 p.m. A 4:00 p.m. tour is offered only weekdays (Monday – Friday), excluding holidays. The Capitol building has wheelchair-accessible entrances and elevators.
