Saturday Science: Fall Effect

Saturday, September 2nd   

·       Cost: FREE!

·       Time: 10am-12pm

·       Location: Town Center of the Discovery Building, 330 N. Orchard St, Madison

·       Explore the changing seasons through interactive exploration stations.


Wisconsin Football

·       Home Games: 9/1 – 8pm, 9/9 – 11am, 9/30 – TBD

·       Away Game: 9/16 – 2:30pm


Family Event: Badger Fan-Demonium

Saturday, September 2nd

·       Cost: FREE!

·       Time: 9am-3pm

·       Location: DreamBank, 1 N. Pinckney St, Madison

·       It’s the first football weekend of the season! Bring your Badger spirit and make crafts to cheer on your favorite player or team. Bucky Badger will be on scene from 10-11am for fun family photo ops. There will also be a face painter from Funny Faces Family Entertainment from 1-3pm.



Saturday, September 9th

·       Start time: 9am

·       Location: Capitol Square – Starts at the 100 block of Martin Luther King Blvd.

·       Race is for kids ages 3 to 13.

·       Cheer on the runners or be a runner! Cost to run: $15 with advance registration online or $20 onsite with debit/credit only.


Superhero 5K Run/Walk & Family sMile

Saturday, September 16th

·       Time: 9am-12pm

·       Location: Holiday Inn Madison at The American Center, 5109 W. Terrace Dr.

·       Cost: 5k run/walk $25, 1M run/walk $15

·       Cheer on the Superhero participants or join this event! 100% of the proceeds will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to help real people fighting blood cancer. You’re invited to come dressed as your favorite Superhero!


40th Annual Willy Street Fair

September 16-17th

·       Admission: FREE!

·       Time: Saturday 2-9pm, Sunday 11am-7pm

·       Location: 800, 900, and 1000 blocks of Williamson St, Madison

·       The Fair features five stages of entertainment, nearly 150 vendors, impromptu performers, and a one-of-a-kind parade on Sunday at 11am.


UW-Madison Arboretum Family Nature Program: Nature’s Transformers

Sunday, September 24th

·       Cost: FREE!

·       Time: 1:30-3:30pm

·       Location: Visitor Center, UW-Madison Arboretum, 1207 Seminole Hwy.

·       Learn about fascinating transformations animals make throughout their lives. Naturalist-led hike 1:30-2:30 followed by indoor activities.


Guided Garden Strolls


·       Cost: FREE!

·       Time: 1:30pm & 3pm

·       Location: Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave, Madison

·       This stroll is for all ages and provides an insider’s view of Olbrich’s outdoor gardens. Stroll starts and ends in lobby near the Garden entrance and is 45-60 minutes in length.


Dane County Farmers’ Market


·       Time: 6:15am-1:45pm

·       Location: Capitol Square, Madison

·       This is the largest producer-only Farmers’ Market in the country. All items are produced by the members behind the tables, with approximately 300 vendors throughout the year.
